Microwave Oven Repair Dubai: Same Day, at Your Home
You put last night’s biryani in for two minutes. The light comes on, the plate turns, the timer counts down, and the food comes out as cold as it went in. Or the microwave is completely dead. Or it has started throwing sparks that make you step back from the door.
Whatever it is doing, A2Z Fix Me can sort it out. We handle microwave oven repair Dubai wide from our base in International City, and in most areas a technician reaches you the same day. We work on every type: countertop, built-in, grill, convection, smart and over-the-range models. The repair happens in your kitchen, and you get the price before we start.
What Is Wrong With Your Microwave?
A microwave rarely fails without a reason. Usually one part has given up. Here is what each symptom points to.
It runs but the food stays cold. The light, fan and turntable run on one circuit and the heat comes from another. When the magnetron, the high-voltage diode or the capacitor fails, everything looks normal except the result. On inverter models from Panasonic and LG, the inverter board is a common culprit.
It is completely dead. Usually a blown internal fuse. The fuse is cheap, but it blows for a reason, often a worn door switch. Replace the fuse alone and it will blow again within days.
Sparks or a burning smell. Look at the small card-like panel on the inside wall. That is the waveguide cover, and once food splatter burns onto it, it arcs. Chipped paint or a rust spot inside the cavity does the same.
The plate does not turn. A tired turntable motor, a cracked coupler under the glass plate, or a roller ring that has slipped off its track.
Buttons do not respond. Steam and grease work their way behind the touchpad over the years. Sometimes it is the keypad membrane, sometimes the control board behind it.
It starts, then stops after a few seconds. Either a door switch that is not making proper contact, or the thermal cut-out doing its job because the cooling fan or vents are blocked.
Loud humming, buzzing or grinding. A failing magnetron or diode hums. A fan or turntable motor grinds. The sound tells our technician where to look first.
The door will not shut or latch. Broken latch hooks or a sagging hinge. This one matters for safety, so do not force it or tape it closed.
Five Safe Checks Before You Call
Some “faults” are not faults at all, and we would rather you keep your money.
- Plug it straight into a wall socket. A microwave sharing an extension lead with a kettle will trip or underperform.
- Look for a lock symbol or “LOC” on the display. That is the child lock. Holding Stop or Cancel for three seconds clears it on most models.
- Check for demo mode. Some models have a showroom setting that runs the light, plate and timer with no heat. Your manual shows how to switch it off.
- Reseat the glass plate and roller ring, and wipe the track underneath.
- If it sparked, take out any foil, metal-rimmed plates or twist ties, and clean the inside walls.
Still not right? Stop there. Never remove the outer cover. The capacitor inside a microwave can hold a dangerous charge long after the plug is pulled, which is why this is not a DIY repair.
Oven Repair Dubai: Built-In, Convection and Combination Units
Many Dubai kitchens come with a built-in microwave or a combination oven fitted into the cabinetry, and these bring their own problems. Grill elements burn out. Convection fans seize. Temperature sensors drift, so food comes out burnt outside and raw in the middle. Tight cabinets with poor airflow make the unit overheat and shut down halfway through cooking.
Our oven repair Dubai service covers all of this. The technician slides the unit out of its housing, repairs it, refits it and checks that the trim sits flush, without marking your cabinets. If the fault is on a full-size electric oven or cooker, see our electric cooker repair Dubai page. The same team handles both.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my microwave running but not heating?
The part that makes the heat has failed while everything else still works. In most cases it is the magnetron, the high-voltage diode or the capacitor. All three can be tested and replaced at your home.
Is it safe to use a microwave that is sparking?
No. Switch it off and stop using it. Continued arcing burns the cavity wall and can damage the magnetron, which turns a small repair into a big one.
How long does a microwave repair take?
Most repairs are finished in a single visit, usually in about an hour. Built-in units take a little longer because they have to come out of the cabinet and go back in.
Can a damaged microwave door leak radiation?
A bent door, a broken hinge or a damaged mesh screen can let microwave energy escape. Do not use the oven until the door has been repaired.
