AC Repair Dubai: Cooling Back the Same Day
It is two in the afternoon in July, 46 degrees outside, and the air coming out of the vents has gone warm. In Dubai that is not an inconvenience. With children or elderly parents at home, it is an emergency.
A2Z Fix Me provides AC repair Dubai wide, from our base in International City. Our technicians work on split, ducted, cassette, window and chiller-fed units in apartments, villas, shops and offices. Most faults are fixed the same day, the harder ones the next, and you always get the price before we start.
What Is Your AC Doing?
It runs but the air is not cold. The usual suspects, in order: a choked filter or coil, a failed capacitor that stops the outdoor fan or compressor from starting, or low refrigerant. One thing to know about gas: it does not get used up. If it is low, there is a leak, and a top-up without finding that leak is money you will spend again next summer.
Water dripping from the indoor unit. The most common AC call in Dubai. Humid air produces litres of condensate a day, and when slime blocks the drain line, that water comes back through the unit or your ceiling.
Ice on the coil or pipes. Air cannot get across the coil because of a dirty filter or a weak blower, or the gas is low.
It trips the breaker. A failed capacitor, a burnt contactor, damaged wiring or a compressor drawing too much current. Do not keep resetting it.
A musty or sour smell. Mould and bacteria on the coil and in the drain pan. Air freshener will not fix it. A proper coil clean will.
Rattling, buzzing, hissing or grinding. Rattling is usually a loose panel or fan blade. Buzzing points to the capacitor or contactor. Hissing suggests a gas leak. Grinding means worn fan motor bearings.
It starts and stops every few minutes. A dirty coil, low gas, or a faulty thermostat or room sensor.
The DEWA bill has jumped. Dirty coils, low gas or a tired compressor make the unit run longer for the same result.
Split, Ducted or Chiller? Know What You Have
Not every AC in Dubai works the same way, and knowing yours can save a wasted visit.
Split and window units have their own compressor: a unit on the wall inside, a fan box on the balcony or roof. Ducted splits are the same machine hidden above a false ceiling, with harder access.
Chiller systems are common in towers in Dubai Marina, Downtown, Business Bay, JLT and on the Palm. The building sends chilled water to a fan coil unit in your ceiling, so there is no compressor and no gas in your flat. If every room is warm, ask a neighbour or call building management first, because the fault may be in the building supply. If it is only your apartment, the cause is usually inside your unit: a stuck actuator valve, a failed thermostat, a blower motor or a blocked strainer. Those we repair.
Renting? Major AC repairs are often the landlord’s responsibility, so check your contract. We give a written quote and report you can forward.

AC Service Dubai: What a Proper Service Includes
Most breakdowns we attend could have been prevented by a service that was actually a service. A bargain visit that rinses the filters and leaves is not one. Ours covers:
- Filters washed and the indoor coil cleaned
- Drain pan cleaned and drain line flushed
- Outdoor coil washed
- Gas pressure checked
- Capacitor, contactor, wiring and running current tested
- Thermostat checked against the real room temperature
In Dubai, twice a year is the minimum: once before summer, around March or April, and once after. Units that run day and night need it every three to four months.
How the Visit Works
- Call or WhatsApp us. Tell us the type of AC and what it is doing. A short video helps.
- Get a time slot. In summer, call in the morning for the best chance of a same-day visit.
- Diagnosis and quote. Pressure, electrical and airflow checks, then a fixed price.
- Repair and test. We measure the air temperature at the vent before we leave.
Cost and Warranty
The price depends on the fault, the type of unit and how easy it is to reach. The quote you approve is the amount you pay. The inspection fee is AED 50, waived when you go ahead. Parts we fit carry a one-year warranty and our workmanship is covered for 90 days.

AC Repair Dubai: Common Questions
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
Most often a dirty filter or coil, a failed capacitor, or low gas caused by a leak. All three can be diagnosed in one visit.
Does my AC need a gas top-up every year?
No. The gas runs in a sealed circuit and is never used up. If a unit needs gas every year, it has a leak that nobody has fixed.
Why is water dripping from my AC?
Almost always a blocked drain line. The unit pulls litres of water out of humid air every day, and if slime blocks the drain, the pan overflows. Flushing the line and cleaning the pan fixes it.
How quickly can you come in summer?
Usually the same day, sometimes the next, depending on workload and how complex the fault is. Morning calls get the earliest slots.
